Mar Athanasius College of Engineering , pioneered engineering education in central Kerala in 1961. Managed by Mar Athanasius College Association, Aided by the Government of Kerala, the college was first in Asia under Christian Management. It was also the first engineering college to be affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University. MACE, as it is popularly known, has grown by leaps and bounds since. It now has six full-fledged departments apart from the two auxiliary departments of Mathematics and Humanities & Science.

FACTS
The Patron Saint of the institution is His Grace Paulose Mar Athanasius. The campus is spread over 25.3 hectares of land. The minimum age limit for admission to the esteemed school is three and a half years at the Lower K.G. level.

The College Arts Club conducts a 5-day inter-collegiate cultural festival each year. College teams for football, basketball, cricket and volleyball participate regularly in intercollegiate tournaments. The Nature and Photographic Club actively conducts seminars, environmental education programs, anti-narcotics awareness programs, trekking, swimming and nature camps.
